More About Mike

In addition to being a founder of Resolve Mediation Group, Mike is a New Orleans native with an electrical engineering degree from the University of New Orleans. Mike worked as an electrical engineer in Los Angeles for 12 years.

His involvement in coastal issues inspired him to attend law school where he obtained his J.D. and a Certificate in Environmental Law from Pace Law School in 2005. At Pace he served as president of the Environmental Law Society and interned at the EPA in Washington, D.C. and eventually earned his license to practice law in both New York and Louisiana.

Mike returned to New Orleans following the Hurricane Katrina levee failures. Mike reacquainted himself with Louisiana, its people, and its issues as Community Outreach Director for the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic. Mike also obtained his master electrician’s license and was one of the first contractors in Louisiana to obtain state certification for installing solar in 2008 when he founded Artisan Solar. Mike joined Solar Alternatives in 2011 as a system designer and was involved in hundreds of residential and commercial energy projects.

In 2014, Mike obtained over 70 hours in civil mediator training and in 2015 began co-mediations of community-police disputes for the New Orleans Office of Independent Police Monitor. In 2015, Mike started Artisan Associates, a consulting, training, and contracting company focusing on residential sustainability.
