More About Wendy
A self described “Trailblazer,” Wendy is addicted to this journey called life. Fearless in the pursuit of her highest and greatest good; she strives to live a life filled with boldness, courage and unlimited acts of kindness.
Trained in the tenets of human development and counseling theories she holds a bachelor degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Community Counseling. Wendy is a self-motivated highly skilled mental health counselor with many years of experience working with men, women and children. She is especially drawn to working in communities and with families; creating prevention and intervention programming through workshops, training and group counseling.
As a state certified mediator, Wendy has found a place to incorporate her training, skills and fundamental belief in the worthiness of all people. In her work as a professionally trained mediator, she assists the Office of the Independent Police Monitor with mediating citizen complaints against police officers to build community trust and to maintain positive community-police relationships
Wendy Smith also collaborates with fellow community mediators to provide community building mediation projects in the city of New Orleans. Broadly speaking she desires to expand the work of Community Mediation in the city of New Orleans.
